Animal Protection Officer – Position Listing

Best Friends Humane Society has an immediate opening for an Animal Protection Officer (APO).

This is a 40-hour position with pay depending on experience. The APO conducts animal protection operations for the Best Friends Humane Society; to include capture and confinement of animals found in violation of animal control ordinances; enforce regulations concerning vaccination, licensing and control of pets; and investigate animal complaints.

The position works in different environments lifting more than 50 pounds on a regular basis. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent as well as a valid GA drivers license.

A full job description can be picked up and resumes submitted at Best Friends Humane Society, 787 Ephesus Church Road, Poulan, between the hours of 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. (Monday thru Friday).

2017 Spring Yardsale

It’s that time again!!! BFHS is hosting a Spring Yard Sale! Saturday, April 1 from 8:00 to when all the bargains are gone!! Stop by 505 N Isabella St to check out the treasures and leave a donation for your Best Friends!!

We are accepting contributions of gently used items for the sale. You may bring your donations to the shelter or drop them off on the porch at the address noted above. (Please let us know if you would like a receipt.)

We will also need volunteers for Friday and Saturday. These Yard Sales are a lot of fun and are a great fundraiser for BFHS. Please help where you can – Volunteer – Donate – Shop!! It all translates into support for the work of the shelter.
